Our Founders’ Story
Taste of Creation Market began with a very personal challenge.
For years, our family has navigated the complexities of food sensitivities and allergies. Shari lives with multiple (over 7) food sensitivities, and Kevin has a shellfish allergy. Both were diagnosed late in life. Like millions of families, grocery shopping often meant reading every ingredient label, researching unfamiliar brands, and hoping that a product was truly safe to bring home.
What should have been a simple trip to the store often turned into a stressful process of investigation and uncertainty.
Over time, we began to realize something important: while awareness of food allergies has grown dramatically, the grocery shopping experience for people living with these challenges has not kept pace. Families are still expected to search through traditional grocery aisles designed for everyone else.
That realization sparked a simple but powerful question:
What if there were a grocery store designed specifically for people living with food allergies and sensitivities?
Taste of Creation Market was born from that idea.
Our vision is to create a welcoming grocery destination where individuals and families can shop with confidence. Instead of scanning every label in uncertainty, customers will find carefully curated products, clearly labeled allergen-friendly options, and knowledgeable staff ready to help guide their shopping experience.
But while the mission is deeply personal, the foundation for building Taste of Creation is also grounded in professional experience.
Shari brings more than a decade of marketing, brand strategy, and business development experience across multiple industries. Her work has helped companies grow their brands, build strong customer communities, and bring new ideas to market. Along the way, her entrepreneurial journey gained national recognition, including features on Good Morning America, in Forbes, and in the Detroit Free Press.
Those experiences shaped the skills needed to build a brand, develop a strong customer experience, and bring a new concept to life.
Kevin brings over 17 years of retail operations and customer experience leadership, combined with firsthand experience navigating food allergies. His background in managing store operations, teams, and inventory ensures that Taste of Creation is not only grounded in the real-world needs of families, but also built to execute efficiently at scale.
Together, we are combining personal experience with professional expertise to launch the first Taste of Creation Market.
This is just the beginning.
Our goal is to open our flagship location in Southeast Michigan and build a grocery experience that helps people feel confident about the food they bring home. As the concept grows, we hope to expand access to allergen-friendly shopping through both physical stores and online offerings.
Taste of Creation Market exists because we believe families living with food allergies deserve more than a workaround. They deserve a place built with their needs at the center.
And we are just getting started.
